Working with an antique image in a department store catalog from the late 1800's I patterned and created approximately 40 unique and original items called chin-chins. They were also called collarettes. All of these items are made from faux fur and have exciting and sometimes unexpected patterns and colors in their linings. The closures are all individually chosen and no two are alike. These delightful pieces can be seen on patrons at clubs in Hollywood where the Steampunk style is sported as well as on stage and upcoming screen appearances. For more information or if you have any questions please drop an email with "chin chin" in the subject line.
All of these photos are of one-of-a-kind items which may or may not have been sold already and are represented here strictly as examples of my work.
Above are half a dozen different models from Project Chin Chin. They range from classic faux fur looks to highly unusual faux furs in bold colors.
At left is a chin chin made of ivory colored faux yak fur with a Pucci-inspired lining. This style fits close to the chin and high on the shoulders.
To the right is an extra-long faux leopard chin chin with two Asian-knot-style closures. This model fits high on the neck and drapes down the bust as can be seen on the mannequin.
This long-pile faux fur is a blend of red and black with antique crystal buttons and a chain connector for the closure.
